At Opportunity Index, we are committed to making our website and content accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. Our Commitment: We aim to align our website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, at the AA level where reasonably possible. We want students, educators, and visitors of all abilities to be able to access our interviews, resources, and information. Measures We Are TakingWe are working to:Use clear, readable fonts and sufficient color contrast. Provide descriptive titles, headings, and link text.
Ensure the site can be navigated using a keyboard as much as possible. Embed videos from platforms that offer captions and encourage use of subtitles/closed captions for episodes. As the project grows, we will continue to improve our accessibility practices. LimitationsDespite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible, for example:Older videos may not have complete captions or transcripts.
Third-party content (e.g., YouTube players, embedded tools) may not fully meet accessibility standards. We are working towards improving these areas over time, especially as we release new episodes and update the site.FeedbackWe welcome feedback on how to improve accessibility. If you encounter barriers while using Opportunity Index, please let us know:What page or feature you were using. What issue you experienced (e.g., screen reader difficulty, missing captions, keyboard navigation, etc.).
